WorldTax makes it simple to see exactly what you keep after tax β in any country, in your own language.
What we do
WorldTax is a free collection of tax and money calculators covering 15+ countries β take-home pay, stamp duty, inheritance tax, dividend tax, end-of-service gratuity and more. No sign-up, no apps, no clutter: just enter your figures and get a clear breakdown.
Accuracy is our whole point
Every calculator is built on the official rates and thresholds for the current tax year, sourced directly from the responsible government body β HMRC (UK), the IRS (US), the ATO (Australia), the ε½η¨εΊ (Japan), the Belastingdienst (Netherlands), Revenue.ie (Ireland), the German BMF, the CRA (Canada), and others. Each calculator is validated against an official worked example before it goes live, and we tell you plainly what each estimate includes and excludes.
Free, and built to stay current
WorldTax is free to use and supported by advertising. Tax rules change every year β we update our calculators as governments publish new figures, and we note the tax year each calculator applies to.
Independent
WorldTax is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government or tax authority. Our calculators are estimates for general information and are not a substitute for professional tax advice.
Who runs WorldTax
WorldTax is built and maintained by Hyunwook Sohn, operating as a registered sole proprietorship in the Republic of Korea (business registration 671-53-00088). It is a one-person independent project, not a company with a newsroom β so it is worth being direct about what that means for you.
We are not licensed tax advisers, and we do not hold a tax qualification in any of the countries we cover. What we do is narrower and, we think, more useful: we read the primary source β the rate tables, thresholds and worked examples that each tax authority publishes β and turn them into a calculator you can check. We do not interpret your personal circumstances, and we do not tell you what to do. Where a rule is genuinely ambiguous or depends on facts a calculator can't see, we say so on the page rather than guessing.
Every calculator names the authority its rates come from and the date its rate data was last updated, at the top of the page. If you want to see exactly how a figure is produced and checked, read our methodology.
How this site is written
The calculation logic β the bands, thresholds, tapers and order of operations β is written and verified by hand against the official source, because that is the part that has to be right. Some of the explanatory prose around the calculators is drafted with the help of AI writing tools and then reviewed and corrected by a human before publication. We mention this because you deserve to know how what you're reading was made. No tax figure on this site is generated by an AI model: every rate, threshold and band is transcribed from the responsible authority's own published tables.
